Update: As some of you may know Lloyd Burton is currently in the hospital in San
Francisco undergoing tests to determine why he wasn't feeling well last week.
Although there has been no definitive diagnosis, Lloyd is feeling better, and his
'numbers' are improving. Of course, Lloyd, being Lloyd, he is anxious to leave the
hospital and get back to home.

rescheduling information. Due to the legions of CDF and other agency personnel
stationed at the fairgrounds, we will be holding our BBQ at a later date. SPECIAL

In spite of a few light raindrops - the members and supporters of the NCARA came
out to enjoy a rare and unique event. Thousands of photos, artifacts and memorabilia
were on display at the second official club event. Most the fledgling club's members
were there as well as dozens more who just wandered in from some of the many other
motorsports related exhibits running concurrently with the NCARA event. Hundreds of
attendees perused the photos, watched the videos, and most importantly saw old friends,
rekindled friendships, and bench raced the past glories, reliving the great history that
the club is working to preserve.Kenny Briggs, longtime announcer for the Shasta
Speedway and the newest board member for the club, was on hand to chat with the people and
to interview many of the key individuals who made history in racing.

Many regaled us with stories of their racing, which vividly recounted the fun and
excitement that they all shared. In a day or so Jack Waterman will have hundreds of
photos on-line from both the BBQ and the Vintage Car Exhibition that was held on the
